IF you are reading this, you or your friends/family must have some sort of redness on the face. Some ethnics are prone to redness.  If you have sensitive skin, or are a natural pale pink, you have probably battled redness at some point in your life.  If you don’t want to spend the day looking like an angry tomato, we have a few simple tips that you can try.

Change your skincare

A lot of red faces are due to chronic dehydration. So that the skin always have that diffused redness. Therefore ingredients such as Hyaluronic acids, NaPCA, which are the natural humectants can help skin to bind moistures and reduce the diffused redness.

Cold compress will work wonders for you

You can supercharge this by using cold green tea instead of water.  The green tea contains anti-inflammatory properties and will help reduce redness by constricting blood vessels. Or a normal cold compress is also as good.

Visit your general practitioner

Get your blood work done and see what’s going on in your body. Check your blood pressure. Also self assess if you have been anxious lately. All these general well-being can also have an impact on your skin. Therefore, checking out all these things are crucial.

If your facial redness is accompanied by dry skin and facial tightness, you may want to add an oil to your skincare regimen.

Our own DMK Seba-e is a natural herbal oil and Vitamin E blend that mimics your skin’s own sebum and this can calm a dry face.  It can also be used under other facial creams and toners, so it’s hard to use too much and get red oily skin instead.

If none of these home remedies are helping, you should make an appointment to have a chat with us.  Facial redness can be from problems like Rosacea, which is on the most common skin conditions we treat.  Cold compresses, some dietary changes and the right skin care can help.  If it’s redness caused by Acne, Perimenopause, or even Erythema (which is caused by outside influences), we can help.  We will find the issue and work on helping your skin condition holistically, from diets to treatments.

I hope you found those tips helpful so you can begin to have glowing skin the more you use these tips.
